Seven subjects were acquaintances of the author and 2 were provided by the psychologist. The remaining 15 subjects were respondents to the newspaper article who advised they had a child without AD/HD who wished to participate. Three subjects did not present for the session. The response rate for the second questionnaire was 100%. A total of 21 participants in the control group completed the session and returned both questionnaires and were included in the analysis. The mean age of the control group was 7.3 years with a standard deviation of 3.3 years. Of the control group, 62% were girls and 38% were boys (see Figure 2, previous page), 29% had a sibling with AD/HD participating, 52% had a sibling without AD/HD participating, and 19% were the only children in their family taking part. Of subjects in the control group 23.8% lived in non-metropolitan areas of Victoria.
